Talkspace is an online and mobile therapy application developed to help people get therapy at a fraction of the price that traditional therapy costs. These days the lives of people have become far too hectic than a few decades back, and the level of anxiety and stress in the lives of people have almost double or even tripled over the years. Most of the people suffer from some or the other kind of mental health issues and need counseling. However, due to the lack of resources or time, people avoid going to therapy. It mostly applies to people who are either too busy, ignorant or doesn’t have the extra finance available to go for conventional therapy sessions.
Talkspace, a mobile and online therapy application, based out of New York City, was developed by Oren Frank to help people get the benefits of professional therapy at a fraction of the cost. Around 500,000 people have already consulted with the physiatrists and psychologists at Talkspace already. The volume of people coming for treatment at Talkspace has increased by 70 to 80 percent since Donald Trump was elected as President of the United States. Oren Frank, CEO, and co-founder of Talkspace say that it is not yet clear as to the rise in the inflow of patients at Talkspace is due to the Trump’s election win or for general reasons.
Most of the people who have been registering at Talkspace lately are millennials, and the average age of these people ranges from 33 to 35. It goes on to show the amount of stress and anxiety that the people are dealing these days from the very young age. Talkspace works with the principle that psychotherapy should be available to one and all without any limitations, and it is what it has been trying to achieve by reaching out to people and ensuring it doesn’t cost a bomb.
